Birch Hills has two six-hole putting greens where you can work on your skills and get a read on how the course will play. Our driving range has 25 hitting positions and is available all daylight hours.

Golf Instructors
Rick Serling has been a teaching professional since 1997. His teaching practice focuses almost exclusively on Beginner, High-Handicap and Intermediate Golfers, accounting for 95% of his students.
He passed the PGA’s Player Ability Test in 2003. His tutoring in golf instruction was under the guidance of Class A PGA instructor, Ken Kallestad, former Director of Instruction for the John Jacobs/Shelby Futch nationwide schools of instruction.
With a degree in Journalism he has written and published (4) total-photo, golf instruction books all created especially for Beginner-to-High Handicap golfers that mirror his golf lessons. The books are given to students as part of his lesson packages to use as a workbook assist with their lessons.
In addition, he uses a special high-speed camera to record and review students’ swings and provides them picture follow-ups by email, to help them practice and learn.

Ken Kay has been teaching this wonderful game for over 20 years. He studied the game and the swing under such notables as Hank Haney, Roger Dunn, Jerry Barber, Kip Puterbaugh, and Cesar Senudo, incorporating the strongest techniques of each instructor into his own teaching methods.
With his experience and easy going personality, Ken creates an instructional atmosphere that allows his students to feel relax and excel.
He is certified by the United States Golf Teachers Federation, with years of business development and management experience.

James Kim has been with Birch Hills Golf Course for only a year but has already developed a reputation for quickly and accurately diagnosing faults in the golf swing. He has recently qualified and enrolled into the PGA PGM program and is pursuing his dream of becoming a Master PGA Teaching Professional.
James has been envolved in many different youth based programs both as a youth pastor and as a non-profit organizer. With his unique experience, James has the ability to go after the underlying cause of the swing. So, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned player, James can prescribe the correct program that will help you reach your goals and play your best golf for the rest of your life.
